Alice was the daughter of Laurence Daly and Honora Quinn. She was born in Ballinamoragh which is part of Ballymamague North. Ballymacmague is just north of the N72, near the Colligan River and Kilgobnet. The family were probably parishioners of the Kilgobnet Church and perhaps buried there, although no Daly headstones have been located.
Alice was the oldest girl of eight children for Laurence and Honora, baptized 14 Dec 1828 (sponsors: Patrick Quinn & Johanna McGrath),: Daniel baptized 3 Mar 1825 (sponsors: William & Margaret Morrisey), John baptized 30 Mar 1827 (sponsors: Patrick Mansell & Catherine Morrisey), Patrick baptized 1 Sep 1830 (sponsors: Michael McGrath & Catherine Morrisey), Laurence baptized 21 Aug 1832 (sponsors: James Morrisey & Margaret Lehan), Mary baptized 15 Aug 1834 (sponsors: Jerome Morrisey & Mary Sweeney), Owen baptized 26 Sep 1838 (sponsors: John Quealy & Mary Quealy), and Catherine baptized 2 May 1841 (sponsors: Martin Morrisey & Ellen Barry).
Alice married John Spratt 11 Feb 1858 in Coolnermuck, Dugarvan, Co. Waterford. They had six known children all born in Dungarvan Ireland: Nora Spratt Daly born 2 May 1858, William born 31 May 1860, Margaret Spratt Rohan 21 born Nov 1862, Mary Spratt born 12 Sep 1865, Laurence born 11 Jun 1868, Catherine born 15 Jul 1873. Alice's husband John died 17 Jan 1875 in Ballyneeta, Dungarvan, County Waterford. Their children Mary, Laurence and Catherine all died in 1878.
Alice and her son William immigrated to Yonkers NewYork on board the Brittanic from Liverpool,13 May 1887. Her daughters Nora and Margaret both immigrated to Yonkers in 1880 and both daughters married in Yonkers.
While living at 36 Prospect Street in Yonkers, Alice died on 12 Dec 1916. Her obituary mentions her brother Owen and her sister Catherine Daly May, both living in Yonkers. Her sister Mary died in Yonkers in 1914. Her daughters Margaret and Nora, son William, and 10 grandchildren also survived her.
