According to her death certificate, Anna's parents were John Sullivan and Ellen Ryan.

Per her obituary in The Hardin County Ledger, February 13, 1919
"Mrs. Annie Lawler, aged nearly 90 years, died Friday evening at her home in north Eldora. Mrs. Lawler, whose maiden name was Annie Sullivan, came to Hardin county with her husband, the late Patrick Lawler, before the city of Eldora was here, the family first settling on the bank of the Iowa river. She was born in Wexford, Ireland. At the age of 18, Annie Sullivan as united in marriage to Patrick Lawler at her girlhood home in historic Ross. Coming immediately to the United States they landed at New Orleans and came up the Mississippi, stopping for a time in Peoria, Ill., thence west as far as Marshalltown, then a village of a few scattered cabins. Soon after their arrival in Xenia, now Secor, Mr. Lawler, who was a stone mason, built the first mill in Hardin county at that place."
