Arthur Browne was the son of William Browne and Ann Risley of London England. 

His parents were married at St. Leonard's, Shoreditch Church in London on 24 Dec 1822. 

He was born in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1831.  Arthur married Catherine Louvier of Paris at St. George the Martyr, Southwark Church in London on 20 Aug 1848.  Arthur and Catherine emigrated to New York soon afterward. 

In view of his father's death in England, his mother, Ann, also emigrated at that time.  The family resided at 106 Greenwich Street and attended Trinity Church,  Arthur worked as a tailor becoming a naturalized citizen on 14 Feb 1854.  Arthur and Catherine had four children:  William Louvier born 14 Dec 1849, Arthur born 29 Nov 1850, Selina Anne born 7 May 1853 at 100 Greene Street and Amelia C. born 1859.  Selina was baptised at Emanuel Anglican Church in New York City on Christmas Day 1853. 

Arthur's wife, Catherine, died in 1859 along with his daughter Ameiia C.  At this time, the family moved to Orange, New Jersey and attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church in West Orange.  Arthur married Kate Wallace in 1862.

Arthur's mother, Ann, died in 1859 and is buried at St. Mark's Cemetery in Orange.  Her headstone indicates she had 12 children, but there was a child in the same grave.  This may have been Amelia C.  Most of Ann's children stayed in England. 

Arthur died on at 188 Greene Street on 6 August 1865 and is also buried at St. Mark's.
