There was a Daniel Barry who arrived in New York on board the ship Dalmarnock on 10 May 1836 along with ten other Barrys including my great great grandfather, Robert Barry and his son, Robert. I don't know where in Ireland my relatives originated but believe from baptismal records it may be Cork city.

Unfortunately, I don't believe they are the same Daniel Barry. My Great-Great-grandfather was born in Herbertstown, County Limerick. He was also married and had children in that area (Rathjordan). He did not leave Ireland until 1895 when he emigrated to the USA through the port of Philadelphia. He emigrated because his daughter, Bridget Barry Cook(e) had become a widow with 5 young children in Chicago. He lived the remainder of his life there and is buried at Mt. Olivet south of the city.
