Eliza Chapman was born on 3 April 1835 and married Charles Leghorn on 20 August 1856 at the Church of St. Molua,Drumsnat,Monaghan and resided at Cooldarragh Townland,Drumsnat.
They later emigrated to Scotland around 1860 and Charles became a miner in Lanarkshire.
Eliza was the mother to 9 children and died on 24 February 1873 at 5 Wilson Row, Overtown, Lanarkshire
