My 4GGM Ellen Quinn, Born JAN 1798 • Ross, Co. Wexford, Ireland [headtsone & death cert]. Per her death cert Ellen Quinn died on 24 June 1885, when 87 years 5 months old making her birth in Jan 1798. It further states that she lived in the United States for 60 years making her abt 27 when she immigrated.
On 28 Dec 1828 she married James Maloy in Providence, Rhode Island at the Beneficent Congregational Church. They also married on 30 Dec 1828 in her home parish in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Holy Cross Cathedral.
They remained in Rhode Island until after birth of 3rd child in 1834. In 1837 their 4th, 5th and 6th child was born in Michigan. Ellen's husband James purchased a USA Federal Land Grant for 80 acres in Ann Arbor Township Michigan in abt 1833 and they farmed that land until they got too old, thereupon moving to Ann Arbor city by 1874.
They belonged to Old St. Patrick's Cathlic Church and are intered in the Old Section of its cemetery. She lived in Michigan until her husband died 30 Mar 1884 in Kalamazoo MI. Thereafter she moved to Tribes Hill NY to reside with her daughter Ellen Maloy Shanahan.
