Tirelugan Townland; Parish: Carnteel (Clogher); Barony: Dungannan Lower; NW of Carnteel (District of Clogher?) Dungannon

Henry Matthews married to Anne Scott (abt. 1826?) & have at least 5 children: Mary Ann, Ellen, William, John & Abraham Matthews.

Note from researcher: I searched Griffiths Valuation  for Tirelugan, the townland where your ancestors lived in the 1800s. The records in 1860 show Henry Mathews on plots 18a & 18b - a farm of just under 12 acres, made up of 2 separate holdings a hundred yards apart. That property today would be on the Tirelugan Rd, just north of Aughnacloy. It isn’t entirely clear where the farmhouse was within those 2 parcels of land but I think it was on plot 18b which today is at the top of a dead end lane. You can use the maps on the Griffiths site (see footnote) to locate the farm. Use the slider bar in the top right hand corner of the maps screen to switch between a contemporaneous map and a modern map.
