Seeking information about James Coleman (1785-1866) of "Edmonstown"  aka James Coleman recorded at farm #3 Frasnadeffa in Griffith's Valuation 1857. His civil death cert describes him as a "landholder", his wife survived him, and the informant at death in 1866 was Michael Coleman.

    In 1857, at the time of Griffith's Valuation 1857, James Coleman & Margaret? of Frasnadeffa farm #3 GV had 40 acres (and a house valued at £1) on the boundary of Edmonstown Demesne. 

    Children (all 3 households appear in 1911 as the only families in Frasnadeffa).

    • Michael Coleman  of "Edmonstown", farmer, married Margaret Sharkey of Monasterden in 1869 (witness John Coleman). This marriage record states Michael's father James Coleman was deceased by 1869. (Michael was the informant at James' death). Does not appear in 1901 or 1911 census. 
    • Pat Coleman b.1855 & Brigid Golden (bachelor 1901, m. 1903 Brigid was a widow when they wed. Confirmed son of James Coleman, farmer, Frasnadeffa). This family appear in the Census of 1911 at Frasnadeffa. Brigid's daughter from her first marriage was born in America. Pat had the biggest house in Frasnadeffa with 5 windows to the front.
    • Myles Coleman b.1859  & wife Kate Coleman m.1886 (son of James "deceased") “small farmer” in 1888, address Bollure 1890,”Edmunstown” 1895, Census 1901 Catherine only (Myles away but still named as the landholder in the Buildings?) 1911 (Emily) Myles was (res. Banada age 24, son of James & Margaret? Godparents John Coleman & Julia Geoghan) His wife, Kate Coleman of Cross, dau of Michael Coleman RIP by ‘86 wit James Coleman & Mary Casey) married age 16.
    • James Coleman Jr of Edmondstown married Brigid/Elizabeth Golden of Monasteredan in 1879 (groom's father James Coleman "deceased", wit James Coleman).
