The Curneens lived in Drummans, Glenade and were known for breeding hunting dogs, in particular Irish Red Setters. John Curneen had customers all over Ireland and the USA. He would drive to Shannon airport with containers of dogs for customers in New York. He was also an acquaintance of W.B. Yeats.
