John Henry Harrington, b. 29 Jul 1883 in Ballyratahan, Dervock, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was the son of Henry and Frances McGrotty Harrington and grandson of James and Catherine Scally Harrington of Islandahoe and John and Jane McCormick McGrotty.
John Henry was a mason as was his father. After his parents died, he was taken in by his uncle George and Julia Mann Harrington and brought to the United States. They settled in New York City and later in Garrison, Putnam County, NY.
He married Caroline Emma Nelson in Garrison on 21 Dec 1911. John Henry worked in the construction of the New York Aqueduct. He died 13 May 1945 at Cold Spring, NY.
