John Crummy was enlisted in the 58th regiment of foot on April 7, 1828. He sailed to Norfolk Island as a guard on the convict ship Agincourt, and then on to Sydney. his regiment was dispatched to New Zealand on the Star Velocity in 1845. He was discharged as a Chelsea Pensioner in 1850, while in New Zealand her married for the second time to Mary Anne Phillips. They moved to Sydney and lived in Redfern, John died in Sanson New Zealand at the age of 72. John had 2 sons, John James and ? and a daughter Jane.
