Migrated to/Born in USA

I've learned from email exchanges with a Devine family researcher that at the age of twelve or so she traveled with her brothers Michael (16), Thomas (17), and Dan from Ireland (possibly Cork) to New York to meet an unnamed aunt. This was probably in 1849.

Maria was 24 and two years younger than her husband James Bailey when they married in 1861 in St. Raphael's Church, Ohio, USA. They had four children: Stephen Timothy BaileyMary Ellen BaileyCatherine Ann (Bailey) Schollas and David Aloysius Bailey. In the 1880 census, an 80 year old widower named John Shocknessy was living with them. If this was a relative, perhaps its a clue to Maria's mother's name.
