Mary Jane Hamilton, daughter of William and Jane (Armstrong) Hamilton,  traveled to Ontario, Canada in approximately 1865 with a letter of recommendation. The letter was written in May 1865 by Henry Lucas St George, Rector of the the Parish of Dromore, Co. Tyrone.

She married Auguste Kissner in 1868, in Ontario, Canada. He died in 1874. He was buried at St James church, Toronto, Canada.

Mary Jane moved eventually moved to Geneva, Ontario, New York, USA, where her sister(?) Isabella Hamilton is living. Isabella marries John McKane in Geneva, Ontario, NY in 1877.

Mary Jane marries David Beard on 5 Dec 1878 in Geneva, NY, USA.

Mary Jane and David have six living children, two boys and 4 girls. they live in Hebron, Washington, NY, USA. David is working as a carpenter.

They are living in North Adams, Massachusetts, USA in 1900. David Beard died in 1904 at the age of 57 years.

Mary Jane lived with her eldest daughter, Caroline Beard Worthington Grinnell and family, after her husbands death.

Mary Jane Beard died 11 Sep 1931, at the age of 85 years in New Bedford, MA, USA
