?DOB 29 July 1894 in Birr, Offally. Has sister Margaret b? 1887/8. Brother Patrick. The girls came to New Zealand in 1914. Patrick came after Mary married Soren Andersen (Denmark) b.1892, in Wellington.

Parents: Thomas Rigney ?b1831 and Mary Ann Troy ?b1855. NOT part of Flannagan family. There were other brothers and sisters, names/dates unknown. Catholic family.

I am so excited to see your post!

I also have a Mary Rigney. She was from Roscomroe parish in Co. Offaly. Born about 1795, she married John Cordial in Ireland and they had 7 children that I know of. Mary emigrated to New York City, USA, in the 1850's with several of her children; I believe her husband John probably died before she left Ireland. The children and approximate birth years: Michael 1815, Eleanor 1818, Mary 1830, John 1833, Timothy 1834, Catherine 1836, Edward unknown. There's lots of time in between Eleanor and Mary for Edward and possibly others. I found Timothy's baptism record and it has them living in the townland of Boheraphuca.

Amazingly, I also have a connection to the Troy family from the same area (through a Troy-Cordial marriage). And my maiden name is Hood. There has to be a link between our families! I hope we can find it.
