Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in USA

My great grandfather, Michael Shea (1835-1903), was from Tuosist. His first wife, Bridget McGillicuddy (1838-1874), was from Rosacoosane. They married on November 4, 1860 in Kenmare Parish, most likely at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Templenoe. Their son, Patrick (1862-1928), was born in Gleninchaquin and most likely baptised at Dawros Church in Tuosist Parish.

Michael emigrated from Ireland in 1863 and settled in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, USA. He and Bridget had four more children: Michael (b.1868), Elizabeth (1869-1941), Katherine (1871-1917), and Jeremiah (b.1872). After Bridget died in 1874, Michael married my great grandmother, Mary E. McSweeney (1845-1922) in 1976. They had three children: Johannah (1877-1950), Margaret (1879-1933), and James (b.1882).
