Micheal Scannell : Short Biography

• 1833-4 - Michael Scannell was born in Ireland to Michael Scannell and Hannah Keefe.

• 1860 - He married Margaret Kearns 15 Apr 1860 in the dioceses of Cloyne, Youghal, County Cork.

• 1860 - Johanna / Hanna was born in Mar 1860 and was baptized at Cloyne.

• 1869 - The family emigrated to Boston with Hannah, Anna, and Mary. Bridget, born 1865 passed, presumably, before departing Ireland.

• 1869 - 1875 - David John, Catherine Alyce, and Elizabeth were born to the couple in Boston.

• 1880 - The family was enumerated in Boston on Ontario Street.

• 1893 - Elizabeth Scannell married John McCourcy who was born Nova Scotia. 

• 1900 - The Scannells with Hannah, Mary, and Catherine were enumerated on Palmer Street in Boston. 

• 1902 - Catherine Alyce Scannell married Otis Josephus Andrews in Boston. 

• 1904 - Michael passed aged 70. His death certificate named his parents as Michael Scannell and Hannah Keefe of Ireland. 

• 1907 - Catherine Alyce Scannell Andrews passed after bearing her fourth child leaving two living children; Joseph Otis and Leon George Andrews.

• 1922 - Mary E Scannell, 53 year old spinster, passed. 

• 1923 - Margaret Kearns Scannell, Michael's widow, passed as did his son, David John.

• 1933 - Hannah Scannell passed at 73. She was a spinster.

FamilySearch has recently suggested and added parents, Malachy Scannell and Hannah Lahey as potential parents of Michael and his birth at Glenfleak, County Kerry, Ireland , FS Id LVMX-XFC. More research is needed.
