Nicholas was the son of Nicholas Devereux and Catherine Barry.  You will see in the US records an a was added into the name Devereaux.

The family came to the US about 1854

He married Elizabeth Cronin who's family owned a shoe store in Marshall, MI on 3 Mar 1862

When the America Civil War (War between the states) in 1862 mustering out as 2nd Lt Michigan 14 Co B (Brenda's ancestor for National Society Daughters of the Union)

He and his wife did not have any children.

He passed away 2 Dec 1884 and is buried with the Cronin family (Same cemetery as his parents) St-Mary's in Marshall, MI
