Place of migration
Migrated to/Born in USA

Colman Mcdonough, son of Peter Mcdonough (1786?) and Bridget Clancy (1790?)  baptized January 29, 1815. Thomas and Margaret Holeran were sponsors.  From Ard, Kilcummin, Outerard, Galway

Colman Mcdonough married Bridget Clancy 9/25/1843 and had Peter, Bridget, John, Patrick J., Michael, Thomas.

Based on my understanding, Patrick J. (1853?) emigrated to Boston in 1874 and lived with Patrick and Kate Curran and worked in Smith's Tannery in Dedham/Norwood Massachusetts.  He married Sarah Kelley, daughter of Patrick and Bridget Kelley.

I would like to know more about that branch of Mcdonoughs. I do not know if other family members emigrated. Some research implies that Peter may come from a landowner background and there was a court record that might have indicated Colman and Bridget made a living using boats. That would make sense since Ard is on Loch Corrib if I have it correct.

I would love to know more about that branch od the Mcdonoughs. There are certainly many of them all over Galway. This branch seems to have strong connections with the Curran, Lyden, Kelley, Folan, and Connor families.

Thank you!!
