Born in county Carlow, migrated to the USA in 1819. Settled in Iowa, Married Mary Mahady, traveled by wagon train and arrived in Calif. in 1853. Settled in Placer County, Calif, Wife Died in 1868. Raised 4children, Lucy, MaryAnn, Margret, and John(adopted). Was a stonemason. Built the 1st Catholic Church in what is now Lincoln, Cal. buried in Lincoln, Cal along with his wife and many of my Irish ancestors.
