Richard Byrne was born about 1847, in County Tipperary, Ireland. Family narrative stated that his parents were Martin Byrne and Mary Doran. Richard was a Farmer. He married Eliza Higgins in 1873 . They had seven children, including Mary Bridget, during their marriage. Richard Byrne died in the last quarter of 1916 in Abbeyleix Civil Parish, Queen's County, Ireland. After 1922, the name of Queen's County changed to County Laois.It was suspected in 2021 that he was buried there.
