Sarah (called Salle) was born in Townland of Tievegarriff in civil parish of Ballynakill in Co. Galway .
Her parents were John Coyne and Ellen "Nellie " Welch. She was sister to Patrick, Rodger and Taghd "Tady" Coyne. She married Philip Gannon in Ballynakill and in 1847 had a daughter Catherine. In 1851 Philip left Ireland to follow family and friends to Marcellus NY. Sarah followed him with their daughter Catherine on 1854.
They had 3 more daughters in Marcellus, Ellen, Honora and Alice, and then Philip died on May 1, 1862 and was the first burial in the just purchased land for St Francis Xavier cemetery, the first Catholic cemetery in Marcellus. Sarah moved to Syracuse where she died in 1903.
