  • I am the great great granddaughter of Thomas J Honan.  The research I have indicates he was born 1842 in Cloughaninchy, Miltown, Malloay, County Clare.  Married Jane "Jennie" Downs 1860 and immigrated to England.  My great grandmother was borned in Yorkshire 11/17/1864.. The family riimmigrated to Canada in 1870 arriving in Quebec City, Quebec on the TWEED on 12 July 1870.  The family settled in Cobourg, Northumber, Ontario, Canada until approximately 1880 when the family crossed into upstate New York settling in Rochester, NY.  Both Thomas and Jennie are buried in Holy Sepelchre cemetary on Lake Avenue in Rochester

  • Thomas and Jane Honan are my great-great-grandparents. Thanks for the information on arrival in Canada. I've added it to my tree in My Heritage. I would be greatly appreciative of any information about them or their ancestors in Ireland. Aside from their marriage record I know next to nothing. -- Patrick Honan
