Thomas McDonald was born in the Parish of Larah in about 1843 to parents Bernard McDonald (unknown - unknown) and Mary Gorman (unknown - 1891).
Thomas had three other known siblings, Esther (born abt 1840), Bernard (born abt 1846) and James (born abt 1848).
Thomas, Esther and Bernard, immigrated to New Zealand between 1865 - 1873.
James and wife Catherine (Riley) had a farm in Greaghagibney. They had 4 children, James, Patrick, Katie and Thomas. James and Patrick ran the
farm until their deaths in 1946 and 1948 respectively. It is thought Katie may have immigrated to America after 1937.
