William and Margaret Piper (née Harper), together with their four sons, Thomas, Alexander, Samuel and John, embarked on the barque "Garrow" in May 1838 from Belfast to Sydney, Australia as government assisted emigrants. Also on the "Garrow" were William's younger brother Samuel and his wife Sarah (née Hern).

William, born c1809 was the son of Alexander Piper and Jane Steed (or Steedson). Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Harper and Margaret Newell.

All were residents of Saintfield, County Down, Ireland.

The family was of Presbyterian religion.

I would like to know how to find and access any documentation of the family whilst they were in Ireland, baptisms, marriages etc.?

Your assistance would be much appreciated.
