  • My Great Grandfather came from that area…Robert Hardcastle Johnston born 1818…only record I have is on his gravestone…says Newtown, County Westmeath….he also had a daughter born 1838 on her marriage certificate of 1889 it says birth Rochfortbridge, County Westmeath….Robert eventually died in Somerset in 1903…but would so love to be able to find some documentary evidence of their existence in Ireland, I have been searching for many years.
