The International Arts Festival has put Ireland on the map as one of the world's greatest celebrations of theatre, music, performance, and art.

The Galway International Arts Festival was founded in 1978 in the National University of Ireland, Galway. Every year the festival sees thousands of peopel flock to this city in the West of Ireland for a celebration of theatre, dance, music, art, talks, design, and so much more. The most famous features of the Arts Festival are the Macnas parade, a fully immersive spectacle of street theatre, and the Big Top music venue on which has seen some huge names in both Irish and international music take to the stage. The festival has grown from year to year and is now a fixture on the Galway calendar and has put this small city on the map as one of the most significant centres for the arts in the world.
