Whilst I instinctively feel I have located my family, via the Tithe Applotment Books, at Lower Kilcross, Inistioge, the only known fact is that my gt. grandfather Charles William ASH (born 1838 New Ross, Wexford) was a son of Francis ASH and Anne AUDLEY. There seem to be no earlier references to them, with no marriage event identified either.
When Charles William, a Schoolmaster, married in 1859 in Dublin, he gave his address as Carlow, with father Francis ASH listed as a Policeman. Two sons were born in Tullow - Henry Francis and Thomas Herbert. The occupations of both would imply they may well have moved around.
Forenames associated with the ASH/E surname would appear to be: Francis, William, Henry, Thomas and possibly Charles if researching 1838 - 1859 therefore.
As there are multiple references in earlier years to the above surnames in both The Rower and Inistioge, I feel sure that I have narrowed down the possibility of finding more about Francis ASHE and wife Anne AUDLEY in this area. The incidence of the forenames Charles and Thomas among the AUDLEYs of Rower give credence to my theory, I hope.

Thank you for the above, Jack
I'm not sure whether there is any connection, but feel there could well be, so I have taken an immediate note of the information.
I am intent on making a trip to Ireland next year and Inistioge and Rower will be on the itinerary, so I would hope to glean some concrete information by then.
Thank you again

Hi Isobel,
My Dad is from The Rower, and his cousins, Aunts etc were Audleys. Its a small place so I would presum they are all related! I am looking to do a family tree. Can you help me with any information if I copme back to you with the names of the family I have so far??
