While searching the Cogleys/Quiglys in Wexford, I came across a church marriage record on rootsireland dated february 11, 1793 which shows the groom's address as Bree, New Ross.....?

Was there actually a town/village/hamlet called Bree in New Ross at some point?  Does it still exist as I haven't found it on any map of New Ross.  Perhaps it got another name?

  • Bree is a village in Wexford with a population in excess of 300 people, it has a primary school, community centre, GAA pitch, soccer club , church and cemetery. Clonmore  Church Of Ireland  is located nearby. The village is located 6 miles south west of Enniscorthy town.

  • There are extensive results under the name Cogley on the free site Irishgenealogy.ie  also results for Quigly/Quigley, records from the 1860's.
