I'm searching for information for a Brigid Dunne who gave a baby girl for adoption in 1923. The child was sent to Berkley Road Dublin
We only have a baptism cert saying Rathbride in Kildare was the residence but monies were sent from kilbride for the child's upkeep.

Talk during the years is that the mother was actually from newtown commons donaghmore ....

Any help after all this time would be great

  • Hello again Suzanne:

Another try for the birth record for Bridget  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_retur…

If the link does not work, the details are as follows:

Bridget Dunne born February 1 1904 father Thomas Dunne and mother Anne Monaghan. Thomas was a farmer and they lived in Newtown

Thomas and Anne married October 21 1896 in Dublin. The name of Thomas' father was Michael and Anne's father was Thomas.

    https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re…

    Thomas died August 10th 1906  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…

  • Amazing thank you !
On the census her name is 'Brigid' ...

The mother was from Kildare as far as I can see ....

Thanks so much ...is this newtown commons near ashbourne ??? Would the nearest place to transfer money be kilbride in the 1900's?

I also need to know if Anne Monaghan had any previous connection with Rathbride ....

I found a house called Newtown House, an old big house at the ward ???

  • Sorry just to clarify .....I'm trying to find out if the family had connections with rathbride, rathangan in kildare? Or osborne lodge in kildare ...

Would you have any idea where I could get more information on Bridget herself please?

I responded earlier to your other Bridget Dunne message. I did not find a Bridget Dunne marriage in the Dunshaughlin registration district.

I can't help you with Anne Monaghan. The only Anne Monaghan baptismal record with father Thomas I could find was in 1862 in Kilcock RC parish and there is no indication of a connection to Rathbride or Rathangan.
