I have been tracing our family tree for a while.  My ggreat grandmother Hanorah Cleary married Micheal Regan at Ss. Peter and Paul August 9, 1885.  I have their marriage certificate. She died in New York in 1897.  My great grandmother then lived with various family members according to the US census's that I have seen.  I know that Ellen Lyons was buried in NY with my great grand parents and I have other cemetary deeds with Patrick and Amelia Lyons names on it.  I am trying to figure out how they are related. Thank you for your help!

  • Hello Patty,

Does the marriage certificate contain the names of their parents.  If it does , then you could try going to www.rootsireland.ie and search for siblings for Hanorah and or Michael.  If you have the names , I can do this search for you .  You would have to pay to view the record but the site is offering a discount until Christmas.  It would cost about €3 or so.

If you can get back to me, I shall see what I can do.  I have seen the index for their marriage record in the - civil parish of Clonmel.

  • Hi Anne,

The witnesses were Daniel Goulding and Bridget Foley.  The marriage was August 9th 185 and Rev. McFlynn was the Cleryman.  Do you think these would have been relatives or friends?

    Thanks,

    Patty
