Hi Monica,
Thank you very much for your message.
It may be difficult to find information without knowing what parish Coleman came from. However, given that Mogan is not a common surname you may be lucky and be able to find something. It might be an idea to contact the Galway Family History Society West before your visit to see if they can find any records of Mogan. However, please note that a fee may apply. Here is their email: galwaywestroots@eircom.net
Using Griffith?s Valuation you can see what Mogan?s were recorded in West Galway in the parishes Ballindoon, Omey and Killannin which all fall under the area known as Connemara:
There were also Mogan?s recorded in Galway in the 1901 census:
Hopefully you may be able to get some more definitive information from the GFHSWbefore your visit.
Kind regards,
Genealogy Support

Hi again Monica,
I forwarded your message to one of our volunteers in Connemara. She is going to take a look at it later in the week when she gets a chance but she said off the top of her head she knows that Mogan is now known in some areas as Mongan and that it is a common enough name in the area.
Hopefully will be in contact again with more soon.
Emma
