Hello All

 

I am assisting someone who has ancestors from Dungarvan, Waterford.

Via research we have one Johanna (Hannah) Daly/Daley/Daily born about 1849 married one David Leahy in USA and lived in Philadelphia.

Via dna matches she had a brother - one John Daly born in 1829 immigrated to US in 1840’s, married one Ellen Hogan and lived in Jo Daviess County, Illinois.

John’s parents were possibly a William Daly and Ellen Kirby.

Family stories handed down in John’s family say he left his sisters in Philadelphia and headed West to follow Ellen Hogan.

Looking for the most likely parish for being born in Dungarvan and also any descendants of these individuals.

  • Well Ed, I can certainly tell you that Dungarvan  was and is full of Daly's. I know that there were soem also in Roscommon.

    I will dig in my files and see if I can find anything.
