My 3rd G Grandparents, Andrew Doyle (b ~1810) and Margaret Ward (baptised in Ardagh and Moydow Parish on 07 Feb 1810) were married 23 Oct 1834, as recorded in the register book of the Parish of Ardagh and Moydow. Margaret gave birth to my 2 G Grandmother, Mary Doyle around 1839. Margaret's father may have been Thomas Ward from Abbeyderg. I am seeking information on Andrew Doyle that would verify his birth/baptism, and also information regarding Margaret Doyle's family. Thank you for any assistance.

  • Peter,

Attached some copies of records in relation to Andrew Doyle and Margaret Ward.

The only record I have found in Subscription sites www.findmypast.ie and www.rootsireland.ie was his marriage record. I searched for for any children, but none found.

Find my past has Margaret Ward's mother as Elizabeth Sharry, while Roots Ireland has her as Elizabeth Kenny. No address.

There is a James Doyle married to a Margaret Ward in Roscommon and a Joseph Doyle in Moyvore, parish of Forgney (Civil - Templepatrick) Source- Roots

Record of Baptism for Margaret Ward on right hand page toward the top.

The surname Keenan may be relevant?

  • Thank you for your reply.  I do have records of Margaret Ward's Baptism and Andrew and Margarets Marriage. I do not have any Baptism records for Andrew Doyle, nor do I have Baptismal records for their 5 children; Anne b 1836, Mary b 1839, Kate b 1840, William b 1842, and John Henry birth year unknown but the only child that was more than likely born in New York, as he was not noted on the passenger ship manifest from when they immigrated to New York in 1849. I am trying to verify the Townland where Andrew and Margaret lived so that I might visit there on my next trip to Ireland.
