Looking for family history on William Falloon born circa 1852 in Camly who married Eliza Jane "Elizabeth" Louden 1854-1892.  William was an executor of his father in-laws will along with Samuel Louden of Bryandrum.  William received the 21 acre farm at Edenkennedy. He may have remarried another named Eliza Jane after his first wife died in 1892.

I would love to find family or information...

Sincerely,

Debra Cartwright

  • Debra,

Here’s William & Eliza Jane’s marriage. He was living in Camly (McCullagh) at that date:

    https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1889/10747/5919027.pdf

Griffiths Valuation (1864) lists William’s father James in Camly (McCullagh) on plot 27 a 13 acre farms. He died in 1892:

    https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…

After Eliza Jane’s death, William married Eliza Faloon in 1895. He was still in Camly (McCullagh) then:

    https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1895/10512/5828880.pdf

    Family in 1901 census:

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Armagh/Camly/Camlymacullagh/1023007/

    and in 1911:

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Armagh/Camly/Camly__Macullagh_/334005/

Plot 27 in Camly (McCullagh) is on the modern Carrackacullion Rd t the junction with Macullagh Rd. It still looks to be a working farm today.

William Falloon died in 1917, daughter Eliza was the informant.

William’s will is on the PRONI wills site. He mentions 4 daughters, including Emma Conlin. You may need to do some research to find out who she was. (I can’t identify a birth or marriage, though I’d guess her husband was Herbert Conlin who appears as executor in 1946).

The Valuation Revision records show the farm passing to Eliza Jane Falloon in 1920 and it was still in her name in 1930 when that series of records finishes.

Margaret Jane Falloon married Joseph McClelland in 1909:

    https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1909/10033/5649342.pdf

    Family in 1911:

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Armagh/Keady/Darkley/322676/

I can see children Joseph McClelland 16.10.1913 & Eveline 21.11.1915 both registered in Armagh.

Elizabeth Jane Falloon died in 1946. Her will is not on-line but should be in PRONI (in paper format). Might be worth getting a copy to see who she mentioned in it:

Falloon Elizabeth Jane of Camlymacullagh Newtownhamilton county Armagh widow died 13 February 1946 Probate Belfast 20 May to Herbert Conlin and David Meeke farmers. Effects £1304 4s. 7d.

Herbert Conlin is presumably connected to Emma Conlin mentioned in William’s will.

This census says the Galloons had been married about 16 Years (since c 1896; it was actually ’95). It notes that Eliza had one child, with one living. This must have been Mary Martha, with any other children being the children of Eliza Louden.

  • Death record for the Eliza Louden Falloon shown here: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1892/06021/4714541.pdf

She died of puerperal fever of 7 days’ duration on 9 Oct. 1892, probably after birth of daughter Eliza.
