  • The name Figgins is not too common in Ireland and probably from English descent, the earliest record I could find was from a Deliverantia Figgins a sponsor at a Dublin RC baptism

And a later baptism of a William Figgins in 1820 Dublin  (Church of Ireland)

Unfortunately there are hardly any records from before 1800

  • Thanks you for that Info.... From the US ancestory records... I go back to the early 1700's where a Edward Figgins comes over from Ireland and had 5 sons ... of which my line comes from his son William..... and since many sons are names after a former family person.... you may have pointed to a very good connection.... So Thanks

  • Forgot to mention a year for Deliverantia and the source, the year was 1745 and the source is www.irishgenealogy.ie a free church record site

They have a couple of Figgin records but most after 1800
