My great great grandfather Robert Kelly ,born in April 11 1805 Muckland County Galway Ireland.That is as far back as I can confirm.Came to New Zealnd on the staff of Govenor George Grey,having served in the same Irish Regiment,I think it was the 27th Irish.Robert Married Mary Anne Swinburne,in Nova Scotia,where they Married and lived before coming to New Zealand

It's probably of no help but the only Robert Kelly birth/baptisms records in 1805 on www.rootsireland.ie/ are Kildare & Waterford; none in Galway I'm afraid.
