I am trying to find my ancestors from Ireland. My G.G.grandfather,s name was John Carroll and he married Mary O,Flaherty they were born around 1850. They emmigrated to Melbourne Australia. I would appreciate any information.

Nancy,
This is not going to be an easy one, as both names are very common in Ireland
About 1850 there were 484 people with the name John Carroll baptised in Ireland and 99 Mary O'Flaherty's.
I can not find a marriage registration here in Ireland, do you know if they married in Ireland or Australia?
If the married in Australia the marriage registration might give the names of their parents, or if you can get a death certificate they might tell the same

Hi Annemarie,
Thanks for replying to me, Mary,s name is Mary Carrol O,Flaherty I can,t find any marriage here in
Australia so I think they were married in Ireland. I can,t even find when they came by ship to Melbourne.
They had a child John Michael Carroll in Melbourne 1870 so It was before then.
It would be great if you could find out something for me.
Where abouts are you from? I live in Perth West Australia.
Thanks Nancy.
