Please can anyone help me trace my relatives. My great grandfather was Thomas Casey. His father was John Casey who was a soldier maybe a private? His mother was Mary ONeill and his sister was Nora or Lanora or Honora. His brothers were Jack and Frank. Thomas was the youngest and Nora was the eldest. John fought in the NZ Land Wars.
According to family conversations:
- they sailed out on the same ship as Reverend Samuel Thomas who came out on the Fairy Queen in Feb 1850, leaving from London and arriving in Auckland around July.
- His family came from Tipperary.
- Thomas may have been born around 1844, he died at 65 yrs in Jan 1909 in NZ
- Does anyone have any information on where any of these people were born
- or where his parents got married.
- what county there were from?
