I am looking for the families of Daniel Garvey and Bridget Fitzgerald. They were born in 1821 and married on 2/11/1840 in Ballyferriter. It looks like Daniel innigrated in 1847 and Bridget in 1848 and settled in Syracuse NY. They had 3 children (Patrick, Mary and Margaret) before they immigrated but it looks like Mary died young.
I would be interested in anything that you can tell me about their families.
Thanks very much.

Hi Jim,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you.
Ballyferriter is a townland in the civil parish of Dunurlin in Co. Kerry.

Did you know that church records from Co. Kerry have been made available online free of charge?

Another website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what Catholic records are available in specific parishes. Dunurlin civil parish belongs to the Catholic parish of Kilmelchidar. To see what is available there follow this link:
You could also check for record of the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:

and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
