Hi Chuck,

ancestry has quite a few listings of Michael Hanrahan and MARGARET Cunningham in the public member trees.

There seems to be a consensus that Michael was born in Newtownsandes, Kerry in 1830

He married Margaret Cunningham in Moyvane Kerry in 15 June 1854 and died 30 March 1901 in Kilbaha Newtownsandes Kerry

Margaret was born 3 March 1835 Kilbaha Newtownsandes Kerry & died same place 2 April 1911

They had 10 children John 1856 Patrick 1858 William 1860 Johanna 1862 James 1865 Catherina 1868

Jane 1873 Michael 1874 Margarita 1876 Ellen 1876

Thank you, but wrong family.  Patrick arrived in U.S. in 1855, my grandmother, his 2nd child was born in Williamsport, Pa. in 1860.  I'll post more info tonight on dates of birth, etc.

I had another look.

There is a Hnarahan tree on the public member trees on ancestry which probably has all I need.

It hasa specific birthdate for Patrick but I couldn't find that record on rootsireland.ie

I searched for Patrick Hanrahan born 1837 all counties and got 1 match in Wexford but the parents weren't Michael and Bridget.

I then tried + - 5 years and got 1 match with parents Michael & Bridget in 1833 kilkenny.

Will have anothe look later.

I've had amother look and am wondering about Kilkenny as their place of origin.

As I mentioned this morning, there was a birth/baptism record on rootsireland for a Patrick Hanrahan with parents Michael and Bridget 1833 Kilkenny. However this would make Michael only 15 when Patrick was born.

There is also a record of Michael Hanrahan born/bap 1818 in Kilkenny

There are baptism records for Bridget Cunningham in Kilkenny 1817 & 1821 in St Johns RC & Callan RC parish respectively.

The Tithe Applotments (free search) 1823-27 has 111 Hanrahans in Kilkenny & 13 Cunninghams

The Griffiths Valuation Kilkenny (1849-50) has 10 Michael Hanrahans and 47 Cunninghams.

It may be worht reposting under Kilkenny rather than Ireland to see if anyone recognises the names.
