I am researching my Gr, Gr, Gr-Grandfather John Dwyer(Sp). His obituary tells us John Dewire(Sp)[an Irishman]died 26 October 1855, about 55 years of age, in Wabash County, Indiana, USA leaving a 12 year old son. Wabash County records show John arrived there sometime in 1835 and married Nancy Given on 27 Nov 1841 or 1842. They had 1 son; Benjamin was baptized in Wabash County 22 Sep 1846, but, Anna Carry was listed instead if Nancy Given. Possibly Nancy had died shortly after their son was born.
Other Wabash records show John Dewire(Sp) sold land to Anastatia Dewyer(Sp) in 1841 [Anastatia was born sometime between 1810 and 1815]. She then sold the same land to John Fitzgibbon. John Fitzgibbon married Eustatsia Dwire on 5 Nov 1841 [John Fitzgibbon was born in Co. Limerick in Jun 1813.] and co-founded St Patrick?s Church in Lagro, Indiana.
There is some possible connection to Co. Tipperary.

Hi Bruce,
There are 3 baptism records of John Dwyer born 1800 + - 1 year on www.rootsireland.ie/
1799 & 1800 in Limerick and 1801 in Tipperary
It costs to view the full record on the site but would give you his father's name and the parish.
It is possible to go through the parishes 1 by 1 to find the one the record came from which I did with the Tipperary record and found it was Carrick-On-Suir parish
In the Tithe Applotments which are free to search online there are 695 Dwyers in Tipperary
