  • Murph,  Killenaule and Mullinahone are in County Tipperary.
As you are decended from them, please state the childs name and approx year of birth for your line?
Sometimes on a Baptism it also gives the townland where they lived, makes it easier to trace in other sites and records.
Up to now there are 7 areas with James Daniel names.
Did all the children stay in Ireland?
If not who went where and when?

They married 21st of November 1811

  • Yes Margot very glad to.

James Daniel and Mary Hogan had a daughter, Bridget Daniel DOB June 29, 1817.

Briget Daniel married Michael Murphy Novemeber 23, 1837 in Killenaule.

Michael Murphy was born about 1805. I found a record that lists his occupation as a merchant.

Their Children were Daniel Dob 1939, Ellen DOB 1842, James DOB 1844, Mary DOB 1846, Joanna DOB 1849, Phillip DOB 1855, Jeremiah DOb 1856 and John DOB 1861. They all live in Killenaule.

I am descended from Jerimaih DOB 1856..Jerimaih married Bridget Wright (DOB 1860). She was from Lanespark,Tipperary.. They lived at 15 Bailey Street in Killenaule. Jerimiah was a mail carrier in Kilenanule.

Their oldest son was Michael DOB 1881. He came to the United states in 1899. He is my great grand father.

Thank you. Anyfurther information about this family or the history of Killenaule during this time would be greatly appreciated.

I speculate that the family survived the potato famine perhaps because Michael Murphy was a mrchant and not a farmer.

They also may have had some policical connetions as their son Jerimal had a job as a mail carrier.

Mchael Murphy and Bridget Daniel have a headstone marking their burial at catholic Church in Killenaule.

Marriages up to 1944, deaths just have to look, all missed years.
If the image is not showing in the deaths, you can order a copy.
Welcome to Irish Genealogy - Irish Genealogy

After 1920, us the www.familysearch.org site births up to 1958.

  • Still cant find the birth record of Micahel Murphy but if he died in 1889 at 75, his birth year would be about 1814.

ANy help on this would be greatly appreeciated.

    Thank you

  • My maternal great-great grandfather, Thomas Walsh, from Lanespark (Killenaule DED) was baptised on 10 Sep 1828 (https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632749#page/11/mode/1up). John and Ellen Spencer were his sponsors. His parents appear to be Thomas Walsh and Hanora (Norry) Walsh.

Thomas married Ellen Mary Daniel (O'Donnell) on 14 January 1862 in Killenaule with Richard Hayde and Bridget O’Donnell as witnesses.

Ellen's parents may be a James Daniel and Mary Donoghue.

Given the dates I do not think that there is a connection with the answers you have provided on this thread.

I have all the detail after 1862 quite accurately and if it is of any use I am delighted to sahre it.

If there is any local knowledge which might provide siblings for Thomas Walsh or  Ellen Mary Daniel I would love to hear them.

    Regards

    Brendan
