Is this Laurance Mahar who settled in Oswego, NY?  If so, has anyone submitted a DNA test?  I descend from Thomas Mahar (born c1835) who came to Oswego around 1854 and lived near Lawrence.  I have not been able to find a link between the families, but Thomas came from County Queens.  I did find a DNA match with another Queen's county family and the Maher/Meagher name study on FamilyTreeDNa can help to link the families.
