  • Hi Chris,

You could try posting as much information as you can about your relatives on the site. For example, do you know where in Ireland they lived, if, when and to where they may have emmigrated or what years they were born or died? The more information you post, the more likely it is that someone will be able to assist you in your search.

For now, you could try checking for information about the frequency of the name in the mid-19th century and any other variant spellings of the name here: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/ . You could also try checking civil registration records which are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

I wish you the best of luck with your search.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
