Looking for info on Ward family

What is the latest Ward ancestor from Ireland that you know about! Ward is a fairly common surname in Donegal and research is complicated by the fact that RC church records generally do not start until 1850 or so depending on the parish.

William Ward born 1701 in Donegal then immigrated to the US. Settling in Virginia.

I've just signed up with Ireland XO and saw your post.  I'm pretty sure we share the same ancestral line, including back to Thomas Ward (abt 1645 - abt 1676).  My ancestor is John Ward b., 1704, brother of William Ward b. 1702, both of whom went to Augusta Co. Virginia with their father about 1730. The only place of origin I have for this Thomas, his son James Ward b. 1672, and the above-mentioned grandsons William and John, is "Inishowen Peninsula, Donegal, Ireland."

 

I am currently looking for their Parish and Townland in the Inishowen Peninsula, so would appreciate anyone's assistance.
