I am researching my family tree but have come to a stop when my Irish ancestor John Conroy left Ireland for England. The earliest reference I have is the English Census 1841 which tells me he was born in Ireland in 1821. In the English Census 1851 he has a wife Eliza born in Ireland in 1825 and a son Edward born in Ireland in 1844. I have always been told that my Irish ancestors came from Donegal but I cannot confirm this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

  • Rootsireland has a record for an Edward Conroy, born to parents John & Eliza in 1843 in Queens County (now Co. Laois). Rootsireland is pay to view.
