I am seeking any information on both of these two women. 

Myra MOORE born about 1870 and died about 1899 who lived in Benvoran, County Clare, during at least some of that time.

Maggie (Margaret?) O'DONOGHUE born perhaps around 1871 and was living in Benvoran, at the time of the census in 1901, but have lost track of her after that.

These women were the first and second wives of Patrick FERGUSON who lived in Benvoran.

I have no idea where they were born or even where the weddings took place and would be grateful for any information about either of these ladies.  I am led to believe they are buried in the Kilmurry/McMahon graveyard but that the family was too poor to update an existing gravestone on grave #97

Can anyone assist with information about either of them please?

  • Below are the two civil marriage index records for the two Patrick Ferguson marriages. Myra Moore was shown as Mary Moore. If you want copies of these records, you can write to the GRO. www.groireland.ie Fill out their form and provide the quarter/year of marriage, registration district (Killadysert) and the volume and page numbers ( 4 and 101) and ( 4 and 137). Each copy costs around 4 euros. The records should show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where they were living. You can ignore the other female names on the index records. They were for other marriages recorded on the smae page.

    Thank you SO much.  You are wonderful to get that so quickly and post it for me.

    It has also solved another family mystery for me now that I recognise another surname on the record that I have been up till now, unable to fit into the family story.

    I usually go to "Ireland Reaching Out" as a last resort, in order to not put people to trouble searching for records that I should be able to locate myself.

    That will teach me!!!!
