The photo is Loro Gate Athenry - a medieval wall found back in '07 http://homepage.eircom.net/~oreganathenry/oreganathenry/athenryjournal/lorogateuncovered.html. The aera is called today Swangate named after a public house at some point in history. In the 1821 census you will see that Athenry's residential addresses are named after town gates in Athenry. It has been mentioned to me by a fellow historian that places could be misnamed because some people didn't speak Irish.
