This is, to say the least, a shot in the dark.  I think my great great grandparents were from County Mayo.  I have noticed that a number of Snees were from this parish.

I am also looking for my Navesey family.  The names seems to have many different spellings.  I got the  Navesey spelling from a marriage certificate from Huull, England.

Any guide ace or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The Navesey surname may be Kneafsey which was found in two civil parishes in East Mayo in 1855 but not in Kilmovee. I checked on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find any baptismal records in Kilmovee for Kneafsey but in the early 1880s there were Napsy, Nepsey and Nefsey baptismal records.

Did not find any Martin Snee baptismal records in Kilmovee. Kilmovee recorfs start in 1854.

    Dear Roger,

Thank you for your assistance.  I have counted about 25 different spellings for the surname Navesey, including the 3 you mentioned.    I have one further question, are there any Snee family at all in Kilmovee?  I don't need to know who, just if there are any.  It is not a common surname, so this might be of assistance.  I know some of my Snee family stayed in Mayo.

    Thank you again,

    Margaret

I just checked https://www.eirphonebook.ie/  which is only a partial list of phone users and there is a Snee listed in Kilkelly which is right next door to Kilmovee. Also another listing for Swinford. Make sure you use the Residential TAB when you search.  There is also a Facebook group Genealogy of Kilmovee.
