As my 2nd g grandmother Julia Hawk seems to have been baptised  St Mary's Parish, Clonmel,  I am taking a wild stab and wondering if her husband Patrick Joseph Martley,(1832-1911) may have been born in Tipperary also.   Julia and Patrick married in 1857 in New London, Connecticut, USA.

I have found his birth both as Aug, 1832 and also Aug, 1835.    Immigration date is also iffy---sometime before his marriage in 1857!   Any help would be wonderful.   Thank you,  Cindy Downs

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

    Cindy:

I searched on the two subscriptions sites ( Roots Ireland and Find MyPast.ie). I checked for all Martley baptismal records available for Ireland and there were two in 1831 in Co. Tipperary. neither had an August baptismal date. I would suggest that you look for Patrick's death record or obit to see if parents names are mentioned.

You can also add Patrick's story to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection.  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

    Have you considered DNA testing?
